Hello! I’m Michael Malt-Cullen.
I’m an educator and philosopher interested in social class, higher education, and the purposes of education. I’m an Associate Tutor at University of Glasgow where I help teach Local and Global Theories and Perspectives on Learning in Diverse Contexts, Approaches to Inclusive Education, and International Issues in Adult and Continuing Education. I also supervise postgraduate dissertation students from Masters taught programmes.
My current PhD research is investigating the emotional experiences of working-class students participating in assessments in higher education. The project is currently titled: ‘Living through assessment: Towards a working-class lived experience understanding of assessment in Higher Education’.
Beyond all this, I enjoy reading biographies, delving too deeply into the lore of the Star Wars universe, and picking heavy things up and putting them down again repeatedly so that I can get better at picking up those things in the future.
